Barings reputation?

I know this has been touched on previously, but I'm curious to see if theres any update as the other posts are relatively old. Curious to see how their rep is on the debt/equity side of their real estate business. Is it seen to be a pretty average shop with regards to employment? Obviously not a top tier shop (BX, KKR , etc) but just trying to gauge who they're similar to in the industry.Haven't heard anything about them being west coast, but maybe it's different as their headquarters is out east? Seems like they are primarily known for their debt, mainly looking to see any insight on their equity team

They're up there when it comes to an investment mgner. 350+b AUM is a sizable number and would "rank" them well on the AUM league table along with some the firms aforementioned. That being said RE is a pretty small component for the firm. All good experience with the RE team there. Seems like smart capable folks and sounds like they're trying to expand the RE platform based on what's going around in the grapevine.

egold70 , what's your opinion? Comment below:

From what I can gather, their equity/acquisitions teams are located in either LA, Boston, Chicago, or Charlotte.

Assuming a HCOL city such as LA or Boston.  I am unfamiliar with LifeCo comp at the more senior levels, at the risk of sounding ill informed, what range of base/bonus would you think those type of senior positions might offer in a HCOL?

And should I assume that comp would be base + bonus vs carry/LT incentive comp?

Thanks!
