Breaking into IB/S&T from Back Office
I work within ops at a BB bank in a satellite office. My goal is to work either in investment banking or sales and trading in NYC . I'm open to both the idea of moving internally or switching firms.
I'm studying for the SIE and taking Wall Street Prep 's financial modeling course . I'm reading exec sum and the Financial Times daily. And I'm networking hard with my school's alums at the MD level.
I graduated in May from a top-ranked liberal arts college with a 3.7 GPA. I think I'm a smart guy and I know I'll work hard.
Is there anything else I can do to give myself the best chance of making this jump?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
