Growth Equity Guides / Tips
Hello all! I'm a senior that recently received an opportunity to interview at a super interesting growth equity fund, and although I understand finance basics, I can honestly say I haven't a clue about growth equity-specific questions. I've looked up LTV/ CAC , CAC Payback Period , and other technical turns, but if anyone has any guides / advice about growth equity investing, I would greatly appreciate it. As someone that doesn't have the most traditional background, I know I'll only have a couple of chances like this and I want to make sure I make the most of it.

What type of GE fund? Sourcing / non sourcing? Platform or dedicated growth vehicle? Old or new? Questions will probably depend on that and the background of the partners. Write back here and I can give more advice. For example a Vitruvian is different than a Dragoneer is different than a Redpoint
What are Dragoneer and Redpoint like? I know Vitruvian is a sourcing shop.
It's one in the vein of a GA / TA / Insight - which is super exciting since I know that it's a great job out of undergrad. I would eventually like to do something more tech-centric like a Dragoneer but any help or advice (especially around the technical / thematic investing component) would be amazing!
Assuming it's Insight since they are hiring and I don't think TA takes analysts and I don't think anybody still likes to go to GA for their analyst years, you should understand that you are given a universe of 500-600 names to stay on top of. You need to 100% be there for every round they raise. You execute on deals you bring in, but you should anyway understand basic metrics for your coverage. Insight is (or at least, was) divided into six fiefdoms outside of the LBO and public teams. Each one of these fiefdoms has a different mandate. If you are doing pure SaaS for example you should be able to interpret an ARR roll plus gross and net retention, understand how to look at vintage / cohort growth analyses, and be able to understand the general SaaS model. You will have to pitch companies you like, but they don't expect too much from you in that, just that you are thoughtful. You need to really convince them you are hungry for the Insight model. If I missed the mark and you are interested in GA, just reply here and let me know, and I'll edit out this part of my statement and provide color on GA as well.

I just asked HR, they said no interviews @ Insight Partners have come out yet….
