HF vs PE comp associate

Currently pretty new to the space working in liquid credit right now and I'm curious about my next step Want to work at a hedge fund touching diff asset classes or private equity and want to know what comp is like?

I'm familiar with wlb and job description for each but want to know if you're at a major hedge fund vs megafund how the pay differs for an associate or vp?
