Point72 Academy Summer 2024 Internship Case Study

For anyone who passed this round in previous years, what are they expecting you to go over in 500 Words? Did people format it as an essay or presentation?

I've heard the case study round is going to be slightly different this year, but in past years I think they've expected it in a write up essay format

Was an essay last year; had to pick between two fictitious companies for an investment. No modelling/technical aspect

Do you think they are expecting some modelling if they are giving you a real company?

I don't know, there wasn't any of it last year anyway and you weren't even given key financial info anyway. It was generally broader and more on reasoning than technicals. Same with interviews.

500 for the entire case or 500 words for each question? 500 for the entire thing seems a bit short but 500 words each seems a bit much

I got them almost instantly for all of them maybe day between submitting and next stage.

Like above said on a real company pretty simple overview, how they create revenue, where their costs come from, is it a good investment, calculate TAM and then effect of some macro event on company.

Just got questionnaire. Wasn't really expecting anything here so I didn't network but now I'm interested in the role.

How essential is networking to the process and what is the timeline after questionnaire?

Networking isnt important at all; very meritocratic process. I and most other people that got offers last year didn't really do anything prior to getting an offer.

everyone gets the questionnaire; typically get a case study about a week or so later then HR and academy coach interviews

Still waiting, I assume they are waiting until they get a few hundred case studies back before giving out interviews

Update on process

By end of HR round, pushed them and got accelerated, did coach round 2/3 days (including weekend) after hr round; one day later (today) HR reached out and scheduled a Next Steps call.

Did they tell you it would be a "30 minute interview with academy management"? Also was it in person or on zoom?

Congrats for the offer. I failed the Case study and could mover further. Sad. Can I ask how you write your case study. When I did, I was not sure what they exactly looked for. Sad for failure, although I tried very hard.

i interviewed last year and received no questions about the case from the academy coach so take that for what its worth (got the offer)
