S&T to Prop?
Is it a viable path to go from being an S&T analyst to prop trading at a top MM? Also, if so, would the process be revolved around your track record (if you have one) at the bank you were at or no, since it's a different trading style? If so, what are the best products to trade in order to make this transition? I would assume equity derivatives or something vol , preferably flow? Is this correct?

Here but for reverse. I have my SIE , 57, and 63, with a year + in prop but it's all commission. Would like to maybe go S&T.
What do you mean all commission? Why do you want to leave prop?
Not all props have base. Place like Jane Street or Flow Traders have base but many more are pure PnL split .
You're probably looking to jump to those top tier ones. I come from the shitty ones, but there's some traders who make 7 figs so all depends on your risk appetite.
Have seen mostly 2 cases:
1. juniors(<2 yrs of experieence) -> compromise their work experience and start as new grad at top prop shops. Many props such as DRW, CItsec, JSC, optiver , imc, accepts new grads who have less than 2 yrs experience.
2. seniors( at least senior vp level who has very solid track record, but mostly D's/MD's) -> become head of specific desk.
there are some other cases I've seen, having 3 yrs as systematic trader at d1 desk -> gd1 junior trader at top prop, and one more. but I think that's a rare case.
Have you ever seen prop traders go to macro hedge funds?
